SpecForce: A Framework to Secure IoT Spectrum Sensors in the Internet of Battlefield Things

The battlefield has evolved into a mobile and dynamic scenario where soldiers heterogeneous military equipment exchange information in real-time wirelessly. This fact brings to reality the Internet of Battlefield Things (IoBT). Wireless communications are key enablers for IoBT, their management is critical due spectrum scarcity increasing number IoBT devices. In this sense, sensors deployed on monitor frequency spectrum, transmit over unoccupied bands, intercept enemy transmissions, or decode valuable information. However, vulnerable cyber-attacks, accurate detection an open challenge literature. Thus, paper presents SpecForce, security framework based device behavioral fingerprinting ML/DL techniques. SpecForce considers data sources detect most dangerous recent cyber-attacks affecting sensors, such as impersonation, malware, sensing falsification attacks. To evaluate performance, it been 25 real results show almost perfect three cyber-attack families previously mentioned.
